Baghdad: The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Adnan Faihan, has announced the impending release of a comprehensive parliamentary program, which will serve as a roadmap for legislative activities in the upcoming sixth session. Faihan emphasized the commitment to finalize the formation of parliamentary committees promptly and unveil a detailed parliamentary agenda shortly.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the announcement came during a meeting between Faihan and Hazem al-Khalidi, the Secretary-General of the National Approach Alliance, along with the head and members of the Alliance’s parliamentary bloc. The meeting focused on discussing a range of political and parliamentary issues, reviewing significant developments on the national scene, and exploring ways to enhance coordination among national forces in response to current needs and to support the parliamentary process.
Faihan reiterated the Speaker of Parliament’s determination to complete the remaining parliamentary committees’ formation in the near future. He indicated that the forthcoming weeks would see the announcement of the parliamentary program designed to guide parliamentary work throughout the sixth session. He also highlighted the importance of supporting the Council’s efforts in meeting its legislative and oversight responsibilities, with a focus on prioritizing laws that directly impact citizens’ lives and address their needs. Furthermore, he underscored the need for measures aimed at addressing existing challenges and enhancing the state’s institutional performance.
