Baghdad: First Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives Adnan Feihan Al-Dulaimi emphasized the importance of advancing the industrial and commercial sectors as a crucial element for bolstering the national economy.

According to Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the media office of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament revealed that Adnan Faihan Al-Dulaimi hosted a meeting at his office, attended by MP Ghaith Shabaa Al-Kilabi, along with a group of prominent Iraqi industrialists and traders. The discussion focused on the current state of the industrial and commercial sectors and the challenges they face.

Faihan highlighted that enhancing these sectors is essential for strengthening the national economy, supporting local production, and creating job opportunities. He instructed the Parliamentary Committees on Economy and Trade, and Industry, Investment and Development to organize an extensive meeting with relevant authorities and representatives from the Industrialists’ and Chambers of Commerce Unions. The goal of this meeting would be to develop practical solutions to existing obstacles and improve the business environment.

Additionally, Faihan urged the government to exempt imported production lines from customs duties. This measure is intended to support the national industry and expand employment opportunities for young people.
