Baghdad: Falah Hassan Hadi, a student from the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Kufa, has won the gold medal in the 200-meter race at the Arab Athletics Championships. The event took place at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia, Egypt, where Hassan not only secured first place but also set a new Iraqi and Arab record for the under-23 age group. According to National Iraqi News Agency, Ammar Al-Kuwaiti, the media officer for the University of Kufa, announced that Falah Hassan completed the race with a time of 20.62 seconds. This impressive timing broke the previous championship record for the under-23 category, marking a milestone for Iraqi athletics and establishing Hassan as a prominent figure among Arab sprinters in his age group. This victory underscores the high level of athletic prowess displayed by students from the University of Kufa in Arab competitions.
