Gaza city: Fatah Spokesman Abdel Fattah Doleh declared that the Fatah movement will maintain its presence in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the role of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) as the guarantor of security for Palestinians. Doleh stated the importance of the Palestinian police in upholding security within the region.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Doleh firmly rejected any foreign administration of the Gaza Strip, stressing that authority should not lie abroad. He advocated for the presence of international forces at the borders to protect against occupation. The spokesman highlighted the Palestinian Authority's commitment to a unified national path, legitimacy, and geography.
Doleh reiterated that the PLO remains the authoritative body in both the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. He expressed a desire to conduct elections following the current conflict, acknowledging the challenges posed by Hamas, stating that neither faction could eliminate the other. Doleh underlined the ongoing struggle against the Palestinian national project, accusing Israel of attempting to eradicate Palestinian presence altogether.
