Fayhan Congratulates the Election of a New Supreme Leader for Iran

Baghdad: The First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Adnan Faihan, congratulated the Iranian people on the election of Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei as Supreme Leader of Iran, affirming that "his selection represents a significant milestone in the political system of the Islamic Republic." In a statement, Faihan said, "We extend our sincerest congratulations to the dear Iranian people on this blessed night of the holy month of Ramadan, on the occasion of the election of His Eminence, Grand Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, as Supreme Leader of the country. We wish him continued success and guidance in leading the Islamic Republic towards greater strength, progress, and power during this critical period in the history of the nation."

According to National Iraqi News Agency, he added: "While we congratulate Iran, its leadership and people, on this event, which represents a significant milestone in the history of the political system in the Islamic Republic, embodying the will of its constitutional institutions and the aspirations of its people to continue the nation's progress, we affirm our complete solidarity with the Iranian people in the face of the brutal aggression they are enduring, which violates international laws and conventions." He reiterated his call for the international community to assume its responsibilities and take serious action to stop this aggression and prevent its repercussions on regional and international peace and security.
