Baghdad: Members of the Federal Court announced their withdrawal from their request for retirement after the reasons that prompted them to do so no longer exist.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by the Supreme Judicial Council revealed that a joint meeting was held, chaired by the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zidan. The meeting included judges from the Federal Court of Cassation, the Chief Public Prosecutor, the President of the Judicial Oversight Authority, and the Federal Supreme Court. During this gathering, the attendees congratulated the new Chief Justice, Judge Munther Ibrahim, on his appointment, and expressed gratitude to the court members for retracting their retirement request.

The meeting focused on discussing mechanisms for ensuring proper judicial work and strict adherence to jurisdiction, in line with constitutional provisions and applicable laws. Additionally, the significance of maintaining the independence and impartiality of the judiciary was emphasized, along with the necessity to avoid any actions or practices that could compromise this integrity.
