Federal Police Seize Unlicensed Weapons in Baghdad Operation


Baghdad: The Federal Police Directorate announced the seizure of unlicensed weapons east of the capital, Baghdad. The operation was part of the ongoing efforts to curb the possession of unauthorized weapons and ensure they are limited to state control.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Directorate reported that units from the 19th Brigade, part of the 5th Federal Police Division, executed a successful security operation in the Bunouk area. During this operation, the brigade’s detachments managed to confiscate an RBK machine gun, a GC automatic rifle, and three Kalashnikov rifles. This initiative underscores the state’s commitment to enhancing security and maintaining public safety by reducing the presence of unlicensed firearms.
