Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed developments in the second phase of the peace plan in the Gaza Strip with his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan, on Tuesday, in addition to bilateral relations between the two countries. This came during a telephone call between the two sides.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the call comes amid the stalled transition to the second phase of the peace plan, despite the first phase having entered into force on October 10, amidst repeated Israeli violations that have resulted in the martyrdom and injury of hundreds of Palestinian civilians.
The UN Security Council adopted on November 18 a US-drafted resolution on ending the Israeli war of annihilation in Gaza, stipulating the formation of a temporary international force and the administration of the Strip by a transitional Palestinian technocratic government, as part of a peace plan announced by US President Donald Trump on September 29.
