Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a phone conversation with his French counterpart, Jean-No«l Barrot, regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip. The discussion focused on efforts to reach a ceasefire and ensure peace in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the conversation between the ministers comes in the context of heightened tensions as US President Donald Trump recently presented a 20-point plan aimed at ending the ongoing conflict. Key aspects of the plan include the release of Israeli prisoners within 72 hours, the disarmament of Hamas, and a ceasefire.

The announcement of the plan occurs amidst the Israeli army’s continued deployment in several key areas of Gaza City. The military operations include bombing and the destruction of buildings and residential facilities, as part of efforts to occupy the city and displace Palestinians.
