Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed the ongoing nuclear negotiations with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araqchi.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, sources at the Turkish Foreign Ministry stated that Fidan and Araqchi discussed the nuclear negotiations between the United States and Iran by telephone on Monday, without providing further details.
The negotiations between the United States and Iran resumed last Friday in the Omani capital, Muscat, continuing a process that had been scheduled for June 2025 before Washington and Israel thwarted it by launching airstrikes on Iran targeting nuclear, military, and security facilities, resulting in the deaths and injuries of hundreds, including senior officials.
Tel Aviv and Washington accuse Tehran of seeking to produce nuclear weapons, while Iran maintains that its program is designed for peaceful purposes, including generating electricity.
