Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed the Ukrainian issue and the current situation in Gaza with his British and German counterparts, David Lamy and Johann Wadephul.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a source at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release that Fidan discussed the outcomes of the meetings held in Alaska and Washington to end the war between Russia and Ukraine in two separate phone calls on Tuesday.

On Monday, the White House hosted talks attended by key global leaders, including Trump, Zelensky, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. The discussions aimed at finding a resolution to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

The meeting between Trump and European leaders followed Friday’s Alaska summit with Putin, where talks focused on achieving a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine and exploring bilateral relations.

Fidan also addressed the latest developments in Gaza and the status of ceasefire negotiations during his discussions with his British and German counterparts.

In related news, Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari mentioned that the ceasefire proposal accepted by Hamas in the Gaza Strip is “almost identical” to what Israel had previously accepted, expressing hope for a “positive and swift” response from Tel Aviv.
