Fidan Engages in Talks with Hamas on Gaza’s Humanitarian Crisis and Ceasefire

Doha: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed the humanitarian situation in Gaza and the ceasefire negotiations with the head of the Hamas Shura Council, Mohammed Darwish, and members of the movement's political bureau. Sources in the Turkish Foreign Ministry stated that Fidan met with Darwish and members of the Hamas political bureau on Sunday, on the sidelines of a visit to the Qatari capital, Doha.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting addressed the humanitarian situation in Gaza and the latest developments in the ceasefire negotiations. The Hamas delegation confirmed that they are continuing their efforts to achieve a permanent ceasefire and provided information on the recent talks.

For his part, Fidan noted Turkey's ongoing initiatives in international forums and its efforts at the bilateral level to achieve peace in Gaza. The meeting also addressed the humanitarian catastrophe resulting from Israel's prevention of humanitarian aid from entering the region for nearly two months, while stressing the need to find an urgent solution to this problem.
