Baghdad: The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has announced the date and agenda for the arrival of its Fact-Finding Committee to Baghdad. This visit is in connection with the Iraqi Football Association elections.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the committee from the International and Asian Federations is scheduled to arrive by the end of this month. The committee’s work will commence on October 1st with an initial meeting involving the President of the Iraqi Football Association, Adnan Dirjal, and the Secretary-General of the Federation, Mohammed Farhan. They are also set to meet with members of the Federation and the Initial and Appeals Committees.
Subsequent activities will include a meeting with the Olympic Committee on the second day, followed by another round of discussions with the President of the Federation and the Secretary-General. The committee is expected to conclude its visit and leave Baghdad by the third of next month.
The formation of this fact-finding commi
ttee and the suspension of election preparations were previously decided by the International and Asian Federations. This action was taken due to several issues and legal violations noted during the election preparation process, initially scheduled for the twenty-first of this month.
