Karbala: The holy province of Karbala witnessed the launch of the fifth session of the ‘Al-Aqsa Call’ International Conference, with the participation of delegations and figures from different countries, to discuss the role of media and the formulation of the narrative in supporting the Palestinian cause, and to draw inspiration from the principles of the Husseini revolution in confronting misinformation and creating awareness.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Abdul Latif Al-Hajj, the general coordinator of the Global Campaign for the Right of Return to Palestine, announced that the activities began with the first official session. This session included speeches by the sponsoring and organizing bodies and the participating delegations. It was followed by a session titled ‘Living Testimonies… The True Story from the Ground,’ where relatives of martyrs, released prisoners, the wounded, and journalists from Palestine presented documentary testimonies about ground events. The first day concluded with a visit to the shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) in Najaf.

Al-Hajj added that on the second day, the program includes a visit by the delegations to the shrine of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and an official reception by the legal custodian of the holy shrine. Following this, attendees listened to a religious sermon and performed the noon prayer in congregation in the holy shrine. The day concludes with their participation in launching the ‘Call of Al-Aqsa’ procession on the pilgrims’ route between Najaf and Karbala.

He explained that the current session is being held during exceptional times and despite American threats directed at the region, affirming the continuation of this path and highlighting the connection between the injustice suffered by Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and the challenges faced by resistance movements, particularly in the Gaza Strip.
