Diwaniyah: A physical altercation erupted inside the Diwaniyah Provincial Council building, resulting in damage to furniture and escalating tensions among council members. The incident, which initially involved two council members, soon drew in their relatives and spilled into the office of the council chairman.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the conflict originated from a disagreement concerning the allocation of residential plots, with each council member asserting their claim to ownership. The situation intensified rapidly, leading to a chaotic scene within the council premises.

The Iraqi National News Agency further reported that the Diwaniyah police chief intervened by ordering the dispersal of the fight and the arrest of those involved in the altercation. In response to the incident, the council chairman has initiated a swift investigation to address the matter and prevent future occurrences.
