Finance Minister Engages with World Bank Delegation on Financial Reform and Automation


Baghdad: Finance Minister Faleh Sari met with a World Bank delegation, led by Regional Director for the Middle East Dalia Khalifa and Country Director for Iraq Emmanuel Salinas, to discuss advancements in financial reform and the development of automation within the financial sector.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Minister emphasized the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to implement automation projects and transition them into actionable steps. This initiative aims to enhance work procedures, improve resource and data management efficiency, and strengthen oversight and transparency within financial institutions.



The Minister highlighted the World Bank’s crucial role in supporting these automation projects and leveraging its technical expertise to advance financial systems. He noted that the collaboration with the Bank spans several critical sectors tied to financial and economic reform.



World Bank representatives praised the Ministry of Finance’s proactive measures to improve the financial and banking sector. They reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to sustained collaboration with the Ministry to ensure the success of joint projects in Iraq. Additionally, they pointed out the increasing interest of major international companies in the Iraqi market.
