Baghdad: Procedures for implementing the decision to increase contract doctors’ salaries from 400,000 to 600,000 dinars are underway. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry stated in a press release: “The Ministry of Finance confirms that the Budget Department is continuing to audit the names of doctors working in health institutions on a contract basis and calculate the financial costs resulting from the increase in their monthly salaries, effective from their start date, based on the Cabinet’s decision to increase their salaries from 400,000 to 600,000 dinars per month. This process is nearing completion.”

The statement further explained: “The Budget Department is conducting the audit according to the names and data received from the Ministry of Health, as per its letter No. 76753 dated September 10, 2026, during this week, in preparation for finalizing the financial procedures for implementing the approved increase.”
