Basra: Civil Defense teams in Basra extinguished a fire that broke out in a bakery due to an electrical short circuit in a generator while it was being refueled with white fuel. The short circuit caused the fire to engulf the bakery and the fuel truck.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Civil Defense Directorate stated in a press release that its teams rushed to the scene immediately upon receiving the report and were able to bring the fire under complete control under the supervision of the Basra Civil Defense Director, Brigadier General Mazen Mohammed Lafteh. They prevented the fire from spreading to neighboring residential buildings and shops.

The statement added that the incident resulted in no injuries or loss of life, but caused material damage to the site of the fire.
