Basra: Civil Defense teams in Basra extinguished a fire that broke out in a private generator located in front of a residential building in the governorate center.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the fire resulted in the burning of three vehicles and two homes, and caused the suffocation of a number of citizens.
The Directorate’s media stated in a statement: “Our teams, under the direct field supervision of Brigadier General Mazen Mohammed Lafta, Director of Basra Civil Defense, were able to extinguish a fire that broke out in a private generator located in front of a residential building on Al-Janabi Street.”
The statement added that the fire led to two cases of suffocation, with the affected individuals being transferred to the hospital for treatment. The incident underscores the ongoing challenges faced by the Civil Defense teams in managing fire-related emergencies in densely populated urban areas.
