Baghdad: The first international conference on the role of psychological counseling in the social and educational integration process in Iraq commenced today, in Baghdad, under the patronage of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani. The event was organized by the National Security Chancellery in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Ministries of Higher Education and Education.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the official opening of the conference, National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji highlighted that the convening of this conference follows significant efforts by the National Security Chancellery, in coordination with both public and private universities, to establish scientific foundations aimed at developing an effective and safe educational environment.

Al-Araji emphasized that educational and psychological counseling has become a fundamental pillar in building balanced personalities, enhancing students' skills, and fostering self-confidence. He explained that a genuine national will is essential for the success of any project related to human development, noting Iraq's progress towards establishing a more stable and effective educational future.

The conference program includes dialogue sessions and direct working discussions at Al-Nahrain University, under the theme "Psychological Counseling... A Bridge for Humanity to Balance, Security, and Peace." These sessions are held in coordination with the National Security Chancellery, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Ministry of Education, and in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme and the German Agency for International Cooperation.
