Baghdad: The Military Intelligence Directorate announced on Saturday the arrest of five terrorists in several provinces.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the arrests were made following directives from higher authorities and the Director of Military Intelligence. These directives included intensifying intelligence efforts, eliminating terrorism, and executing judicial warrants. As part of a proactive plan to apprehend all those wanted by the judiciary, the Military Intelligence Directorate, in coordination with other security agencies, carried out several targeted operations.
These operations successfully led to the capture of five individuals wanted under Article (1/4) of the Counter-Terrorism Law. The directorate emphasized that these operations are part of their ongoing commitment to counter-terrorism efforts and maintaining national security.
The captured terrorists have been handed over to the relevant authorities, following all established procedures. This development marks a significant step in the country’s continuing fight against terrorism.
