Washington: Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein received former US Ambassador to Iraq Khalilzad in Washington. A Foreign Ministry statement said, “During the meeting, the results of Khalilzad’s recent visit to Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq were reviewed, and the meeting addressed the most important issues discussed with Iraqi officials.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement continued, “The two sides discussed regional developments and the ongoing negotiations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America, stressing the importance of reaching positive results that contribute to enhancing regional and international stability and security.”
