Foreign Investment in Iraq Exceeds $100 Billion in Two Years

Baghdad: The Iraqi Investment Commission announced that the volume of Arab and foreign investments in Iraq has exceeded $100 billion over the past two years, reflecting the government’s commitment to providing a solid investment environment capable of attracting global capital and companies.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Commission’s spokesperson, Hanan Jassim, stated that these investments were distributed across multiple sectors, including housing, manufacturing, electric and oil energy, as well as agriculture, services, and infrastructure.

Jassim mentioned that these investment projects have begun to yield tangible positive impacts, such as creating widespread job opportunities, transferring technology and international expertise, increasing non-oil revenues, and improving basic services in several governorates.

She explained that government reforms, particularly those aimed at removing obstacles for the private sector, streamlining procedures, and aligning laws with economic development plans, have strengthened investor confidence, making Iraq a promising and attractive environment in the region.

Jassim emphasized that the Authority continues to work with partners from various countries and global companies to ensure the implementation of strategic projects according to the highest standards, contributing to building a diversified and strong economy that serves all segments of Iraqi society.
