Foreign Minister Discusses Latest Regional Security Developments with US Charg© d’Affaires in Iraq

Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met with the US Charg© d'Affaires to Iraq, Ambassador Joshua Harris, to discuss the latest security developments in the region, particularly the recent tensions in Aleppo.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that "Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein received the US Charg© d'Affaires to Iraq, Ambassador Joshua Harris."

The statement added that "during the meeting, bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States were discussed, along with ways to enhance joint cooperation in various areas of mutual interest."

The statement explained that the two sides discussed the latest security developments in the region, focusing on the situation in Syria, particularly the recent tensions in Aleppo and their implications for the security and stability of the region. They also reviewed the ongoing political steps to form a government and their impact on the security and political landscape in the region.
