Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, received the Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Qu Dongyu, along with his delegation, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting focused on strengthening the existing cooperative framework between Iraq and the FAO.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, discussions centered around reviewing the outcomes of FAO-implemented programs in Iraq, particularly those involving modern agricultural technologies. These initiatives align with the objectives of Iraq’s National Agricultural Plan and the country’s broader aspirations in the agricultural sector. The dialogue also highlighted the potential implications of climate change and water scarcity on Iraq’s agricultural strategy, emphasizing the importance of leveraging insights from the Fifth Baghdad International Water Conference to bolster agricultural development.
