Baghdad: Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and his Kuwaiti counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, stressed the importance of strengthening joint consultation and coordination mechanisms during a meeting on Monday.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement noting that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein arrived in Kuwait for an official visit. Upon his arrival at Kuwait International Airport, he was welcomed by Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya alongside several senior officials from the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The statement highlighted that Hussein and his Kuwaiti counterpart affirmed the strong bilateral relations between Iraq and Kuwait. They expressed a mutual desire to expand cooperation in various fields, aiming to serve the interests of both nations.
Furthermore, the statement emphasized the importance of enhancing mechanisms for joint consultation and coordination on regional and international issues. The discussions aimed at fostering a constructive partnership that contributes to achieving security and stability in the region.
