Jeddah: Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein delivered a written letter to his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan, demanding the release of Iraqi detainees in Saudi prisons.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that “Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein met on Monday in Jeddah with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” Faisal bin Farhan. During the meeting, they discussed ways to develop bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and the importance of enhancing joint cooperation in various fields.
The necessity of convening the Joint Political and Security Committee between the Republic of Iraq and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as soon as possible was also discussed, given its role in strengthening cooperation and coordination. The Minister delivered a written message to the Saudi Foreign Minister, which included a demand for the release of Iraqi detainees in Saudi prisons, stressing the Iraqi government’s keenness to follow up on this issue in a way that strengthens fraternal ties between the two countries.
