Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein chaired the 14th meeting focused on the ongoing preparations for the upcoming Arab Summit in Baghdad, scheduled for May 2025. The meeting was a significant step in ensuring that all necessary arrangements are in place for the successful hosting of the summit.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting saw the participation of key government officials, including Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari and Minister of Finance Taif Sami. Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers Hamid Al-Ghazi and Mayor of Baghdad Ammar Musa were also present. Additional attendees included Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Administrative and Technical Affairs Ahmed Nayef, Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations Mohammed Bahr Al-Ulum, Chairman of the Summit’s Political Committee, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, alongside representatives from relevant ministries and agencies.

During the meeting, the attendees focused on evaluating the performance of the operations rooms and the logistical support required for the event. They also reviewed procedures related to the summit’s ceremonies to ensure smooth execution.

The session included a review of decisions made by the Media Committee and discussions on the developments in the work of the Political Committee, all aimed at completing the necessary preparations for the summit’s success.
