New york: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, Gordan Radman, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting centered on strengthening and developing bilateral relations between Iraq and Croatia, focusing on political, economic, and cultural fields to benefit both nations. The dialogue also underscored the importance of expanding cooperation on mutual interests.

Fuad Hussein extended a warm welcome to his Croatian counterpart's upcoming visit to Baghdad. The visit is part of an invitation for Croatian businessmen to engage in discussions on cooperation in oil and energy, military cooperation, and tourism. Discussions also included potential visa exemptions for diplomatic passport holders and collaboration in mine clearance, utilizing Ukraine's expertise in the area.

Additionally, the ministers exchanged views on regional and international issues of common concern. The Croatian Minister expressed his country's commitment to strengthening ties with Iraq, while Fuad Hussein highlighted Iraq's openness to Croatia and the European Union as a crucial element for fostering development and regional stability.
