Jeddah: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein engaged in discussions with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aati to address the follow-up of mechanisms for joint cooperation in the political and economic fields. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation meetings in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting focused on strengthening the bilateral relations between Iraq and Egypt. Both ministers discussed the importance of implementing mechanisms for cooperation in political and economic domains and emphasized the need for coordination on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The ministers underscored the significance of ongoing consultation and coordination between Baghdad and Cairo, highlighting the profound historical and fraternal ties between the nations. They noted that such collaboration could significantly contribute to security, stability, and development within the region.
Furthermore, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aati advocated for de-escalation in the region. He stressed the importance of using dialogue and diplomacy to resolve crises and enhance regional security, reflecting a commitment to peaceful and constructive engagement.
