Diyala: A security detachment arrested a foreign traveler and seized a quantity of narcotics in his possession at Al-Mundhiriyah border crossing, northeast of Baqubah, the capital of Diyala Governorate. Brigadier General Haitham Al-Shammari, Director of Media of Diyala Police, confirmed the arrest and seizure.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the accused was attempting to smuggle the narcotics into the country. Trained police dogs (K9) played a crucial role in detecting the hidden narcotics, showcasing their professional capabilities in assisting law enforcement.

Brigadier General Al-Shammari further stated that the necessary legal measures were taken against the accused, who has been referred to the competent judicial authorities for prosecution in accordance with the law. He emphasized the continued efforts of security forces to protect border crossings and prevent the entry of prohibited substances, working in collaboration with other formations.
