Najaf: Former Najaf Airport Director, Fayez al-Shammari, surrendered to security forces upon entering the airport’s arrivals hall.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, an official security source stated that “al-Shammari, wanted by the judiciary on charges of financial and administrative corruption, surrendered to security forces immediately upon his arrival in Najaf from outside Iraq.”

It is worth noting that al-Shammari had previously fled the country after the airport was handed over to a specialized committee several years ago, and a default judgment was issued against him by the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court.
