Paris: French Foreign Minister Jean-No«l Barrot has announced that France is determined to recognize the State of Palestine. This decision is part of a coordinated effort to establish the necessary conditions for the creation of a Palestinian state.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Barrot expressed significant concern over the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip during an interview with the French channel LCI. He highlighted the distressing events in May, where over 500 Palestinians were killed and approximately 4,000 were injured while trying to access food aid. He condemned the situation as an affront to human dignity and reiterated France and the European Union’s commitment to facilitating the safe and humane distribution of food aid in the region.
Barrot emphasized that there is no justification for the ongoing Israeli assaults on the Gaza Strip. He reaffirmed France’s dedication to recognizing the Palestinian state within the framework of an international initiative.
