Mosul:Nineveh: A French delegation engaged in discussions with the local government in Nineveh to explore expanding cooperation on reconstruction projects and the preservation of heritage sites in Mosul.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the head of the French-Iraqi Parliamentary Friendship Committee, Nicole Duranton, was informed about the plans to develop the riverfront of the Old City. The French side expressed significant interest in this project.

Nineveh Governor Abdul Qadir al-Dakhil highlighted that France and the European Union have substantially supported the province over recent years, particularly in rehabilitating heritage sites and aiding displaced persons. He emphasized the province’s intention to strengthen its partnership with the French to advance reconstruction and development projects.

The French delegation included the French Consul General in Mosul, Fabrice Desplechin, members of the Parliamentary Friendship Committee, and representatives from the ALIPH organization.
