Paris: French Foreign Minister Jean-No«l Barrot affirmed that France has close ties with Iraq and stands by its side. He emphasized this commitment during a joint press conference with his Iraqi counterpart, highlighting Iraq’s evolving role in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Barrot remarked that Iraq is writing a new page in its history and France supports Iraq’s sovereign choices. He underscored that Iraq has returned to its role as a driving force for regional stability and reiterated France’s support for Iraq’s sovereignty.

The French Foreign Minister also pointed out the significance of the Baghdad Conference, noting its importance for the security and stability of the region.
