Karbala: The Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Mohammed Al-Hassan, praised Iraq’s policy of disassociation from the recent conflicts in the region on Saturday. In a joint press conference with Karbala Governor Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi, Al-Hassan remarked on the unity and national belonging witnessed in Karbala.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Hassan emphasized that the stability in Iraq is a result of collective effort and sacrifices. He highlighted Iraq’s prosperity and its valuable human resources, which include distinguished scientists who have achieved international recognition, even contributing to NASA. Al-Hassan noted Iraq’s strategic decision to distance itself from regional political issues, suggesting that this approach will fortify Iraq’s standing both regionally and globally.

Al-Hassan further stated that Iraq’s current message is centered on peace, construction, progress, and development, rather than conflict. He emphasized that Iraq is now secure and open to foreign and international investment, indicating a promising future for the country.
