Fuad Hussein Meets EU Representative to Enhance Cooperation in Gulf Affairs

New york: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, held a meeting with the European Union Special Representative for Gulf Affairs, Luigi Di Maio, at the Iraqi Mission to the United Nations General Assembly in New York. This meeting took place on the sidelines of Hussein's participation in the 80th session of the Assembly.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussion focused on expanding cooperation between the European Union and Gulf states, with an emphasis on enhancing joint international efforts to promote peace and security. Both parties underlined the importance of coordinating their roles in political, economic, and security matters, and the need to strengthen strategic partnerships to address shared challenges.

During their talks, the two leaders also examined current international and regional developments, especially in the Middle East. Fuad Hussein emphasized the importance of achieving security and stability through peaceful means and diplomatic dialogue. He expressed Iraq's desire for the European Union to play a more significant role in fostering regional stability, which is essential for sustainable development.

Luigi Di Maio reaffirmed the European Union's dedication to collaborating with Iraq and other regional countries to boost bilateral and multilateral relations. He praised Iraq's efforts in bridging regional perspectives and supporting initiatives aimed at reducing tensions.
