Baghdad: The funeral procession of the martyred Sayyid Ali Khamenei arrived at the entrance to the Old City, surrounded by thousands of mourners. The procession paused at the entrance, as the committee overseeing the funeral announced via loudspeakers that the mourners should not enter the city due to its inability to accommodate the large crowds.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, prayers and farewell ceremonies are expected to be held at the Imam’s shrine. Following these ceremonies, the procession will continue its journey to the holy city of Karbala.
