Baghdad: A gang specializing in armed robbery was dismantled in Maysan. The Criminal Investigation Department in Maysan successfully dismantled a gang that had been targeting citizens’ homes for armed robberies.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Maysan Police Command reported that the gang was apprehended through a well-planned ambush. This operation was made possible after extensive efforts in gathering and analyzing information, tracking the suspects’ movements, and determining their locations.
During the initial investigations, the suspects confessed to committing four armed robberies in different areas of the governorate. They admitted to stealing large sums of money and gold jewelry from the homes they targeted. The accused individuals have been detained in accordance with Article (443) of the Penal Code and have been referred to the competent judiciary to complete the legal procedures against them.
