Gaza: More than 1,000 Palestinians have been martyred since the start of the Israeli forces’ siege of the northern Gaza governorate, which has continued for over three weeks. The Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip announced this troubling development, emphasizing the severe impact of the ongoing siege.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Civil Defense stated in a recent announcement that the occupation aims to depopulate the northern governorate by targeting homes and shelters with bombings. The organization highlighted the dire humanitarian situation, noting that no water or food has entered the area for 25 days since the siege began.

The Civil Defense has urged residents of the northern governorate to avoid gathering in homes to prevent mass casualties. In response to the escalating crisis, the municipality of Beit Lahia city issued a distress call, describing the severe humanitarian catastrophe the residents are enduring due to the ongoing conflict and blockade. The city has been left without essen
tial services, including food, water, hospitals, and communication, leading to an urgent appeal for international intervention.

The municipality’s call to action includes demands for the international community and humanitarian organizations to pressure the occupation to cease the violence in the northern Gaza Strip and Beit Lahia. It also calls for the establishment of safe passages to deliver medical, food, and fuel supplies and to bring in necessary civil defense and ambulance equipment. This is crucial for retrieving the deceased and wounded from the rubble, especially following recent massacres in the city.

The call also emphasizes the need for fuel to operate essential services like water wells and sewage pumps and for heavy machinery to clear roads and facilitate movement. As the siege enters its twenty-fifth day, the Israeli military operation continues to target civilians in Jabalia and its camp, exacerbating the humanitarian situation by preventing the entry of vital aid and supplies.
