Diwaniyah: The project aimed at rehabilitating the median strip at the entrance to the Ghammas district in Diwaniyah has faced a significant setback as it has been referred to the Integrity Commission. The Diwaniyah Provincial Council member, Anwar Al-Ziyadi, revealed that the decision to involve the Integrity Commission was due to alleged administrative and financial corruption associated with the project.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Ziyadi announced in a press release that a formal letter has been dispatched to the Integrity Commission’s Al-Qadisiyah Investigations Office. This communication outlines the specific administrative and financial irregularities that have been identified in the project. The project, which encompasses a 2 km stretch, was initially intended to enhance the infrastructure at the entrance of the Ghammas district.

Al-Ziyadi’s announcement highlights growing concerns over transparency and accountability within local projects.
