Baghdad: Abbas Radhi, Director of the Ghadan Risk Management Foundation, confirmed that Baghdad is now serving as an international dialogue platform to discuss the most prominent risks facing the world, most importantly “the challenges of oil, sustainable investment, and its environmental and climate impacts.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Radhi stated at a press conference on Saturday that the forum seeks to formulate practical solutions through policy papers that will be submitted to OPEC, the Iraqi government, and the Ministry of Oil. This initiative aims to confront technological and environmental risks and develop effective strategies for the future of energy.

Radhi emphasized that the forum stems from the conviction that oil poses a complex challenge to the world, whether in its investment, ensuring its continued use, or confronting its negative impacts on the environment and climate. He noted that technological and environmental risks will be at the forefront of the discussion, as will issues related to energy transitions.

He further explained that the active presence of international oil and energy companies, along with official institutions in producing countries, represents an opportunity to formulate practical policy papers. These documents will be presented to OPEC, the current and future Iraqi government, and the Ministry of Oil to develop realistic solutions to current and future challenges.
