Baghdad: Government Spokesperson Bassem Al-Awadi confirmed that the Prime Minister’s policy is “frankness” with his people.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Awadi stated, “Recently, there has been a proliferation of news attributed to Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and the government. These news are baseless and have no connection to the truth. Those spreading them aim to mislead public opinion and rush headlong to achieve personal interests and gains that do not take into account Iraq’s higher interests.”
He further emphasized that all such allegations are denied, asserting that the Prime Minister remains committed to “frankness” with the citizens. He highlighted that any official news or government stance should be sourced from official platforms.
Al-Awadi urged media outlets to exercise caution in circulating inaccurate news, and mentioned that there is a reserved legal right to take action against any entity that intentionally distorts information, potentially harming the country’s public interest as it faces significant challenges.
