Riyadh: The fifth Gulf-US Summit between the United States and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries commenced today in the Saudi capital, Riyadh. The summit was initiated at the invitation of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and is part of US President Donald Trump’s visit to Saudi Arabia.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the summit will focus on various critical issues, prominently including economic, trade, and investment developments. It will also address the regional, security, and political situation that affects both the Gulf countries and the United States.

Held at the King Abdulaziz Conference Center, the summit’s agenda includes discussions on the current economic climate in the region and globally. Additionally, the summit will tackle the Israeli conflict in Gaza, deliberating on the ceasefire and the entry of aid into Gaza. A new mechanism for the delivery of aid into the Palestinian Strip may also be proposed.

Furthermore, the summit will cover the US nuclear negotiations with Iran, exploring the events that have transpired between the two sides and potential pathways to achieving peace in the region.
