Cairo: UN Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres affirmed his rejection of the ongoing displacement of the people of Gaza. In a speech at the Arab Summit, Guterres emphasized the illegality of the annexation of Palestinian lands and the construction of settlements.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Guterres highlighted that the region and the entire world are facing significant challenges, beginning with the situation in Gaza. He stated that nothing justifies the collective suffering of the Palestinian people. Guterres expressed concern over the expansion of Israeli operations in the Gaza Strip and underscored that a two-state solution is the only way to resolve the crisis, allowing Israel and Palestine to coexist peacefully.

Furthermore, the UN Secretary-General commended the progress in Iraq, particularly in terms of humanitarian assistance and human rights advancement. He affirmed his commitment to supporting the Iraqi government and its citizens in their ongoing efforts.
