Damascus: UN Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres affirmed that violations of Syrian territorial sovereignty are unacceptable and must cease. During a joint press conference with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani in Damascus, Guterres stated, “The UN position is clear in protecting the unity and sovereignty of Syrian territory,” emphasizing that “all violations of Syrian territory must stop.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani explained that “Guterres’ visit to Damascus is the first visit by a UN Secretary-General to Syria in 17 years.” Al-Shaibani added that “Israeli violations of Syrian territory constitute a direct threat to the security of the region,” demanding “the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Syrian territory and the implementation of the Disengagement Agreement.”
