New york: UN Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres has emphasized that Israel’s decision to seize control of the Gaza Strip represents a dangerous escalation. He warned that this move could worsen the disastrous consequences already faced by millions of Palestinians in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Guterres highlighted that the decision might further endanger lives, including those of the remaining hostages. He pointed out the severe humanitarian catastrophe that Palestinians in Gaza continue to endure. Guterres stressed that any further escalation would likely result in increased forced displacement, loss of life, and extensive destruction. He called for an immediate end to violations and urged for the protection of civilians.
