Hamas Asserts Hostage Recovery Only Possible Through Prisoner Exchange Deal

Gaza: The Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” has declared that Israel will only retrieve its detainees through a prisoner exchange deal. Hamas leader Mahmoud Mardawi emphasized this in a press statement, asserting that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is misguided if he believes that his objectives can be achieved through the current conflict in the Gaza Strip.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Mardawi highlighted the movement’s firm stance against prolonging the initial phase of the agreement with Israel, insisting that all stages of the agreement be executed as originally signed. He urged mediators to ensure Israel’s adherence to the terms of the agreement.

Mardawi also noted that Egypt has consistently communicated to Hamas its opposition to any plans aimed at displacing the residents of the Gaza Strip. This stance is to safeguard Egypt’s national security and to uphold Palestinian rights.
