Baghdad: The Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” handed over 4 Israelis to the Red Cross today, Saturday, as part of the seventh batch of exchange operations within the first phase of the ceasefire agreement with Israel, after handing over two other prisoners earlier today, bringing the total number handed over today to 6 prisoners. The prisoner handover ceremony took place today at two points that were prepared in advance for the handover process, the first in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, and the second on Salah al-Din Street near the entrance to the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the first part of the handover process in the city of Rafah included the Red Cross representative receiving the two Israeli soldiers “Avraham Mengistu and Tal Shoham”, and transferring them to the Israeli occupation army, which later announced that it had received them. In return, 602 Palestinian prisoners are expected to be released from the occupation prisons today, including 50 prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment, 60 with long sentences, in addition to 47 prisoners released in Wafa al-Ahrar deal who were re-arrested by the occupation, and 445 prisoners from the Gaza Strip who were arrested after October 7, 2023 will be released.
