Gaza: The Palestinian Hamas movement stated on Tuesday that the current aid distribution mechanism in Gaza, implemented by Israel, is failing and endangering civilian lives. Scenes of thousands gathering at aid distribution centers, which are under threat from Israeli forces, highlight the inadequacies of this system.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Hamas criticized the mechanism, suggesting it was intentionally designed to diminish the United Nations’ role while advancing Israel’s political and military objectives under the guise of humanitarian aid. The statement from Hamas described the “safe distribution sites” as deceptive humanitarian corridors intended for humiliation and blackmail, especially as the blockade continues and aid is restricted from entering through crossings.
Hamas urged the international community, the United Nations, and Arab and Islamic nations to act swiftly to dismantle this system and facilitate the opening of crossings for humanitarian aid under the supervision of the UN.
